 The "Texas Stadium Rescue Competition"

Thanks to the Irving Fire Department High Angle Rescue Team (more commonly known as the "Mules" and frequent winners at the Technical Rescue Competition), the home of the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Stadium, has been made available for rescue competitions. The scenarios are "industrial" based in contrast to the Garner State Park Technical Rescue Competition. Teams will be placed in an industrial setting where anchors and patient access are extremely limited and difficult. Teams with a creative approach will fare better! Safety, as always, is of paramount importance as there are numerous sharp edges, unsure footing and live electrical lines that will challenge the teams!

It has been said over the years that while the Garner State Park Competition is educational and beneficial, having an "industrial" or urban-based event would be more realistic for the teams from the larger cities. While knowledge of ropes, systems and medical care for extended periods of time are common between the two events, HOW to set your systems is totally different. This venue allows teams to practice in a training or competition environment to maximize their experience that they can take back to their own jurisdiction.

The Dallas Cowboys are currently building a new stadium in Arlington and will be moving there in the next few years. It is unknown how long Texas Stadium will be available for this type of event, so make plans to attend! If your team has additional training needs of this type, please contact:
